How does the program work?
Our system is designed to be fantastically easy. Just sign up and let us do the work! We will conduct a detailed examination of your credit in light of the laws that govern the various participants in the reporting process. We will identify everything that is questionable, obsolete, and out of compliance. We then send letters to the relevant parties for the purpose of clearing derogatory information from your reports. Our approach is truly effective. In addition, we provide valuable counseling services to insure that you are armed with all of the information needed to maximize and maintain your valuable credit scores. Back to Questions
What is the cost?
We offer the best cost structure in the business... and by far the best value for your dollar. There is a $99 one-time setup fee. Your $49 monthly fee begins 30 days later. Everything you need is covered. You never have to worry about confusing options or expensive upgrades. There are never any hidden costs or surprises! And if you are signing up with your spouse, it gets even better; they can join in for half price! Back to Questions
Is this an automated dispute service?
No! Our customers get personalized service and the full benefit of our experience and knowledge. Automated dispute services enter the list of derogatory information from your credit report into their software, and then direct you to a computer screen to select which items you would like to dispute. This computerized approach can leave the majority of potential improvement untapped. Unlike these automated services, our comprehensive, hands-on method insures that you get the best possible result. Are you listed with the Better Business Bureau?
Sky Blue Credit is listed with the Better Business Bureau and has a flawless record of zero complaints. We are entirely customer oriented and work hard to provide the most professional service in the industry. Back to Questions
Should I sign up my spouse at the same time?
We suggest that you both sign up! We offer a 50% spousal discount to encourage you to sign up at the same time. As a couple you may share a significant number of accounts, or you may share none. Either way, when you sign up, we will set up individual files and you will both get the full benefit of individualized attention. To qualify as a couple you must share the same mailing address. Back to Questions
How do you dispute joint accounts?
Joint accounts are treated the same as individual accounts. If you take advantage of our 50% spousal discount we will set up individual files for both of you and every dispute will be pursued methodically. It is possible that we will be disputing the same information for you and your spouse at the same time. This is appropriate. You each have your own credit report and we will give you equal individual attention. Back to Questions
Can you help us build new credit?
If it looks like you will be left with "insufficient credit" when our job is done we will offer to guide you though the process of opening secured credit cards as appropriate. This can be an important step in the process of building credit and improving your credit scores. Creditors look for open accounts that are in good standing. A secured credit card requires a small savings deposit which usually secures the entire credit line on a MasterCard or Visa. These credit cards will be reported on your credit report. Back to Questions
What should I do while Sky Blue is repairing my credit?
You are signing up with us because you want good credit and all of the benefits that come with good credit. We work very hard to make sure that we get the best results possible, but there are things you need to do too! Here some important guidelines: 1) Pay your bills on time. Late payments have a dramatic impact on your scores. 2) Don't max out your credit cards. Approaching the credit limit on your credit cards can cost you big time! You can lose over 100 points by running your cards up to the max. 3) Only open new accounts when you have to. Don't fall into the trap of taking every credit card offer that arrives in your mailbox. Newly opened credit lines reduce your score. Back to Questions
Do you share our personal information with anyone?
Never! Please see our Privacy Policy for all of the details, but in short: We do not, under any circumstances share, sell, or in anyway provide your information to anyone. Back to Questions
How do I send you my credit reports?
After you sign up we will provide you with easy instructions for obtaining your credit reports and getting them to us. We will provide a link to annualcreditreport.com, where you can obtain your reports for free if you have not done so already in the last 12 months. We will also provide a link to our top choice for a low cost tri-merged report. Back to Questions
When I request my report, does it hurt my credit scores?
When you request your own report it has no impact on your credit scores. There are two types of inquiries, "hard" and "soft". A hard inquiry will affect your score - and occurs when you apply for new credit. A soft inquiry will not affect your score - and occurs in three instances: 1) when you request your own credit report, 2) when potential lenders check your credit prior to offering you pre-approved credit, and 3) when a current lender conducts a periodic review of an existing account. Back to Questions
Can you order our credit reports for us directly?
Credit repair businesses cannot order credit reports for their customers. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (Section 604) prohibits the credit bureaus from furnishing credit reports to third parties for any reasons outside of the FCRA definition of "permissible purposes" which include determination of credit worthiness, underwriting of insurance, and employment screening. You will need to obtain your own credit reports, and when you sign up we will provide you with simple instructions. Back to Questions
